Saudi Defense Fund (SDF) today announced its near-term priorities to support the Kingdom’s defense industrial base through partnerships that localize manufacturing, strengthen sovereign supply chains, and accelerate dual-use technology development.
SDF is a privately held platform that works with governments and strategic institutions to build enduring capabilities across land, air, naval, cyber, and space domains, alongside training, MRO, and R&D initiatives. The Fund is a member of Global Defence Funds (defencefund.global).
“Localization and resilient supply chains are strategic imperatives,” said a spokesperson for Saudi Defense Fund. “Our mandate is to combine program discipline with technology transfer and workforce development—so capabilities are built in the Kingdom and for the Kingdom.”
Key Priorities
· Localization & Technology Transfer: Structured programs to establish and scale production in-Kingdom, with measurable local content and skills development.
· Sovereign Supply Chains: Risk-aware sourcing, critical component assurance, and sustainment planning across strategic platforms.
· Dual-Use Innovation: Targeted initiatives that enable defense-grade technology with civilian spillovers in advanced manufacturing, autonomy, and secure systems.
· Governance & Compliance: Strict adherence to applicable laws and export-control regimes; transparent program oversight and ethics standards.
