Oshkosh Defense Recognized for Employee Support from The Department of Defense

 Oshkosh Defense, received on the 14th of September the 2015 Extraordinary Employer Support Award from the Department of Defense organization, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). Oshkosh is acknowledged for its exceptional support of their employees serving in the National Guard and Reserve. Oshkosh was presented the award at the 137th NGAUS Conference & Exhibition in Nashville, Tenn.

“We are honored to be recognized for our commitment to our National Guard and Reserve employees who significantly contribute by providing the best vehicles and services that our Armed Forces rely on every day,” said U.S. Army Major General (Retired) John Urias, executive vice president of Oshkosh Corporation and president of Oshkosh Defense. “We are tremendously grateful for their service to our country, and appreciate their continued service as part of the Oshkosh team.”

Only prior recipients of the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award or Pro-Patria Award are able to be nominated for this prestigious award. Oshkosh received both the Freedom Award and Pro-Patria Award in 2008 for its commitment to its Guard and Reserve employees.

“This award is only presented to employers who not only hire Guard and Reserve members, but demonstrate superior support to their military employee and his/her family,” said Wisconsin ESGR State Chair Mike Williams. “The National Guard and Reserve Forces are the cornerstone of our national defense. Oshkosh Defense has provided outstanding support and cooperation and has exhibited a patriotic spirit which is truly reflected in the significance of being a recipient of ESGR’s Extraordinary Employer Support Award.”
