KNDS Unveils Leopard 2 A-RC 3.0 Main Battle Tank at Eurosatory

At Eurosatory 2024, KNDS is showcasing its latest developments in main battle tank technology with the introduction of the Leopard 2 A-RC 3.0 and Leclerc Evolution.

The Leopard 2 A-RC 3.0 features a remote-controlled turret with a modular automatic loading system. The main gun caliber can be configured between 120mm and 140mm. This design frees up space within the chassis, allowing for a fully enclosed and secure crew compartment for 3-4 personnel. Enhanced ballistic protection is complemented by a proven active protection system and a remote weapon station for defense against drone threats. The Leopard 2 A-RC 3.0 also boasts a guided missile system for engaging beyond-line-of-sight targets while mobile, and a 30mm remote weapon system for close-range and aerial threats.

The Leopard 2 A-RC 3.0 is designed to be backwards compatible with existing Leopard 2 variants, allowing for cost-effective upgrades. Any Leopard 2 variant currently in service can be upgraded to the Leopard 2 A-RC 3.0 equipment status. This modular approach offers KNDS the ability to tailor solutions to meet the specific needs of each customer.

KNDS views the Leopard 2 A-RC 3.0 as a crucial stepping stone towards the next-generation Main Ground Combat System (MGCS) program, while also offering a technologically advanced solution in the present.
