Hellmann Logistics Selects Morpho’s Itemiser DX for Enhanced Air Cargo Screening

Morpho (Safran), through its subsidiary Morpho Detection, on the 16th of July announced contracts from Hellmann Worldwide Logistics to supply and service Itemiser DX explosives trace detectors (ETD) to screen air cargo.

Following an initial contract in 2014, Hellmann recently purchased additional Itemiser DX units to replace legacy systems and ensure its continued compliance with the U.S. Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) Certified Cargo Screening Program (CCSP).

"Morpho is pleased Hellmann continues to select Itemiser DX to help meet the security demands of their growing cargo business," said Karen Bomba, president and CEO, Morpho Detection. "The ability of Itemiser DX to detect and identify explosives in challenging environments, combined with Morpho’s global service teams, gives air cargo companies the ability to enhance operational efficiencies by ensuring maximum system performance and uptime."

A lightweight, portable desktop system, Itemiser DX can detect residue from explosives on parcels, bags, cargo, skin, clothing, vehicles and other surfaces.

Hellmann constantly strives to increase efficiencies by incorporating advanced technologies into our cargo screening and shipping process. Working with Morpho helps us achieve this goal while maintaining the highest level of cargo screening efficiency without impacting our bottom line.

Joel Beckman, compliance manager, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.

First qualified for air cargo screening in 2010 and certified by seven global regulatory agencies, more than 5,000 Itemiser DX units have been deployed to air cargo screening facilities, airport checkpoints, checked baggage screening and secure locations around the world.
