Avon Rubber Acquiring The Thermal Imaging Camera Business Argus

 Avon Rubber has acquired the thermal imaging camera business argus, a subsidiary of e2v technologies plc. Argus, based in Chelmsford, UK, is a leading designer and manufacturer of thermal imaging cameras for first responder and fire markets.

Commenting, Andrew Lewis, Interim Chief Executive Officer, said “The addition of argus to the Group further broadens the range of products we are able to offer our customers in the key fire and first responder markets. The argus team brings a wealth of technical expertise in this area which will also generate longer term product development opportunities for the Protection & Defence business.”

Leon Klapwijk, Vice President of Sales for EMEA /Asia Pacific, Avon Protection, explains “This acquisition provides us with state-of-the-art products that really fit with our current product range. With high profile clients in the UK, the USA and Asia Pacific and established distribution channels, this is a key acquisition for Avon.”
