AJW Aviation Appoints New Chief Financial Officer

 AJW Aviation has recruited on the 29th of February an experienced international finance expert, Thomas van de Wiel, in the role of Chief Financial Officer to lead the finance and legal functions within the Company and support certain affiliates and subsidiaries of the AJW Group. As a Board Director, he will be responsible for the formulation of the financial and operational strategy for the business, controlling finance, taxation, corporate governance, forecasting and deal analysis.

This appointment follows an eight year career with Harsco Corporation (a diversified industrial services company with a $1.5bn turnover and 175 sites in 35 countries and listed on the New York Stock Exchange) where Van de Wiel was most recently Finance Director at Harsco Metals & Minerals, responsible for a team of 50 finance staff across 16 European countries. Prior to that he spent four years as Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (Western & Eastern Europe) for DHL Supply Chain, and worked as Controller Worldwide Operations, KLM Cargo from 2001-2004.

Van de Wiel will also work on financing negotiations, tax matters and investor relations. He takes up the position in early March and will be based at AJW’s corporate headquarters in the UK.
