AJW Aviation Appoints Air Capability Specialist, Guy Van Den Berg, as Director of Contract Services

AJW Aviation has commenced a far-reaching programme to augment its operational skills base with the appointment of Guy van den Berg as Director of Contract Services. He joins AJW following a highly successful career in the military both as a helicopter and an air transport operator across the UK, EU, Middle East and Asia. For the last three years, he has been a senior leader responsible for air capability planning and assisting defence transformation across the air environment. Most recently he has worked for the MOD on defence test and evaluation.

Christopher Whiteside, President – AJW Group, affirms the organisation’s quest for high calibre expertise. “Guy’s strategic vision and programme planning experience will enhance our competitive edge.  He will lead AJW’s Continuous Improvement initiative with easyJet that will lean into automation and digitalisation to reduce overheads and our cost base. His wider role is to strengthen our service provider relationships with all contracted customers and work with them to build rock solid processes that support their future growth ambitions.”

“A dynamic environment permeates the entire organisation at AJW” says van den Berg. “The ability to transform our customers’ operational success through our desire to continually drive efficiency and agility into everything that we do, means that our levels of service and the capabilities on offer will remain the most competitive in the market place.  I am keen to further strengthen procedures and maintain the rigorous quality standards that the Company is renowned for, without losing the ‘can-do’ spirit that exemplifies AJW, and is what drew me to becoming part of the team.”

AJW’s integrated aircraft support programmes are ideal for operators wishing to compete in the Low Cost sector.  The EU still has a long way to go before it reaches Low Cost operator saturation and we are scanning similar models in North America and South East Asia” adds Whiteside.  “We know we can make a real difference not only through the depth of our knowledge gained across our managed global fleet of more than 1,000 aircraft under contract, but also via our highly experienced management team.  We are delighted to welcome Guy on board.”
