Air, Land, Sea, and Cyber Solutions for the Middle East

The biennial IDEX exhibition is almost upon us again, and BAE Systems will return for the 2015 edition of the show next week with a varied line up of products and solutions targeted specifically to meet the requirements of Gulf governments.

As the needs of regional players are wide-ranging, so are the technologies we’re showcasing next week in Abu Dhabi: we’re highlighting all major areas of interest across air, land, sea and cyber. I think visitors will really get an in-depth understanding of our latest technologies thanks to the fantastic displays we’ll have at IDEX and its maritime-focused partner exhibition, NAVDEX.

Stand out Technologies
Visitors interested in Eurofighter Typhoon will be able to explore the latest capabilities of the swing-role fighter by trying the flight simulator on our stand, as well as the full size replica which will be outside.
Our air sector offerings aren’t going to be just limited to Typhoon however, as information on our very successful Hawk advanced jet trainer and the associated training and support programmes will be a feature of our presence at IDEX.
Another key highlight for IDEX is our towed gun, the M777. The capabilities of this flexible 155mm Howitzer will be a core focus, so visitors wanting more information can chat to several of our team on what the M777 can offer modern armed forces.

Cyber Security
Both globally and regionally there has been a lot of focus on cyber security protection in recent years, which is why we’ve evolved our cyber solution presence at IDEX to incorporate a varied cross section of technologies from BAE Systems Applied Intelligence. IndustrialProtect is one stand out solution this year. Derived from military technology, this recently launched military grade solution is aimed at protecting nations’ critical infrastructure – such as oil & gas, utilities and industries like pharmaceuticals – industrial control systems from cyber attack.

Naval solutions at IDEX and NAVDEX
We’ve a rich heritage in maritime solutions which has enabled us to develop some of the leading-edge products in naval defence. IDEX and NAVDEX give us the ideal platforms to showcase these, and for 2015 we’ll be highlighting some core products, such as our naval guns, the 57mk3 and the 40mk4. Over at NAVDEX visitors can discover the capabilities of 90 metre OPV and 99 metre Corvette models.
These solutions are just a very small snapshot of what we’re highlighting at IDEX and NAVDEX, so I’d like to encourage visitors to come and talk with our teams about the technologies available, and discuss how BAE Systems’ leading-edge solutions can fulfill requirements. We will be at ADNEC in Abu Dhabi from 22-26th February on stand 05-C25 and the Eurofighter Typhoon full size replica on stand CP-219. Our partner, Eurofighter, is located on Stand 06-A10.
